Problem
E-commerce businesses needed a secure, reliable way to accept card and wallet payments without stitching together fragile one-off integrations or relying on manual payment verification after every order.
Merchants also lacked a single place to see transaction volume, successes and failures, refunds, payment methods, and conversion performance — while developers needed clean REST APIs, webhook events, and store connectors such as WooCommerce.
Role
Backend integration, payment API development, webhook verification, merchant dashboard, and e-commerce / custom backend connectivity.
Timeline API and checkout core first, then webhook verification and status sync, refund flows, merchant analytics, and store / custom backend connectors.
Approach
Emirates ITS designed and implemented PayByCard as an end-to-end payment gateway integration connecting the storefront to the payment provider through structured API flows — payment creation, authorization, success and failure handling, refunds, transaction history, and payment status synchronization.
Webhook-based events (successful payments, failed transactions, refunds) update the merchant backend and order management system in real time. A merchant dashboard surfaces volume, conversion, payment methods, and recent activity, with tools to review transactions and issue full or partial refunds from one interface.
The architecture supports WooCommerce and custom backends via secure REST APIs, keeps sensitive payment operations server-side, and delivers a simple checkout experience on desktop and mobile for cards and digital wallets where available.
Result
PayByCard gives merchants a secure checkout path and full payment visibility — API integration, webhook-driven order sync, refund workflows, and analytics — built by Emirates ITS for scalable FinTech and e-commerce environments.
